The Shimanchu Discord Server is a community focused on the history, culture, and traditions of Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands. It’s a space for those interested in exploring Okinawan history, language, and contemporary issues, fostering thoughtful discussions and resource sharing. Join us to connect with others who share a passion for the Ryukyu Archipelago.

The Luchu Study Group consists of members are of Luchuan ancestry. Please note that we use the term, Luchu, to emphasize the diversity within our archipelago beyond Okinawa Island. We include students, academics, community members, etc. 

Hear the many voices and stories of those identifying as Shimanchu or Uchinaanchu.  The podcast aims to celebrate and preserve our culture, connect the diaspora, and both proudly and humbly educate and learn through each episode and conversation.
