Community Empowerment

With roots tracing back to 2021 and formally established as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2024, NIRAI envisions a world where the rich and diverse culture of the Ryukyu people is celebrated and preserved across generations and geographies. Through NIRAI, we aim to inspire those with ancestral roots in the Ryukyu Archipelago to explore and cherish their histories, cultivate a strong sense of identity, and contribute to the revitalization of our shared and evolving cultural heritage. Our vision is a future where Ryukyu communities, both at home and abroad, are connected, empowered, and thriving in harmony with their environments.

We are deeply committed to preserving and revitalizing the rich cultural heritage of the Ryukyu Archipelago. Advocacy is at the heart of our mission, especially when it comes to the rights and recognition of the Ryukyuan people.
